Toby Mitchell has quit the Bandidos because of ill-health caused by two murder attempts. Simon O’Dwyer None of those shootings was as serious as the second attempt on Mitchell’s life, which police believe could have been as bad as the Milperra massacre. Seven people, six of them bikies, died in the gunfight between the Comanchero and Bandidos gangs in Sydney’s west in It was revealed that during the rampage a Hells Angels member was seen standing in an overcoat brandishing a machinegun and the girlfriends of Diablos members had their details taken by the bikies performing the run-through as a threat to stop them speaking to police. Video footage shows that when Mitchell’s convoy arrived, members of the Hells Angels group ambushed them in cars of their own, ramming into Mitchell’s car and spraying them with bullets while other Bandidos fled. Mitchell, 38, was shot in the right arm.

Just to note, there were 10 main manufactures of the US GI wartime M1 carbine as given in the table on page 1. Models made by Universal Hialeah and Iver Johnson are post war commercial models. M1 carbines made by Universal, normally have the ventilated hand guard and a modified bolt. They were then one of the main armouries to overhaul M1 carbine production post war and any parts manufactured by Springfield carry an SA stamp.
Springfield did manufacture M1 carbines starting in the mid s and these carry an SCxxxx casting.

I had to send it back to AO, the feed ramp was out of spec, they replaced it, and I tightened up the magazine well, and it now runs like a top. Despite this I would recommend it, very fun little rifle.

But the basic retail sales of the carbines is gone for now, and never know if they’ll be back. It has nothing to do with the Clinton crap, that was retail importers, the cmp was never going to see those SK garands and carbines Any carbine that comes available is thru their auctions, not the basic retail sales. The ones I shoot and have been there and done that, garner the attention from the vets at the range, and I always offer up trigger time and rounds to them.
USGI would always be my first choice.. Most parts are abundant, and they are very well documented, unlike many of the off commercial variants. From there, for the commercially made variants, new More so, James River Armory. I had gotten my first Garand and an 03a3 , and was at Orion7 , he had gotten a few carbines in, and after handling them, one came home. After shooting it, and letting my wife and daughter shot it, well, they sort of multiplied in the safe, like the Garands did.
The Garands are too much for my wife and daughter, but they love the M1 Carbines. And Rockola cause they were some of the least manufactured and it’s just cool that a juke box maker was making the carbines and wound up with a Inland or two from CMP as well, cause they ran out of my 1st and 2nd choices during the mail order time – so the choice was to get nothing or something when it was your turn in line. One of the little gems from the CMP was a rack grade beater Inland – the last resort choice.

Naval Council A fleet is more than just a collection of ships. It requires an organisation and support ashore to keep it afloat and battle worthy. Ships at sea require regular repairs, even if they are not fighting, as wind and wave will take a toll of even the strongest vessel. Even ships that are not active require some maintenance support, as barnacles and weeds must be removed if sailing performance is not be to compromised.
A warship requires a prodigious quantity of stores, food, water and ammunition too: All of these tasks mean that navies must have their own dockyards, repair shops and warehouses available at all times. It is not enough to rely on civilian capacity. A huge fleet demanded shore facilities such as dockyards on an equally vast scale, and in every part of the world. Just supplying the fleet with food, drink and spare parts required tremendous purchasing organisation, but the Navy was also capable of building and repairing vessels.
Even British foreign policy in places like the Baltic was dominated by the need to keep the navy supplied with mast timbers and tar, in the case of the Baltic. Fitting a flintlock to a cannon reduces misfires and speeds firing. Traditionally, cannons are fired by applying a slow-burning match to the touch hole in the breach.

Hundreds of rounds with zero failures from 30 rounders. It was a WW HP. It ran about 20 yards and dropped eader than Hogan’s goat. The exit wound looked identicle to the exits I have had. I carried this gun for years as a trunk gun as a deputy. I know a Postal Inspector that took out a bad guy that was shooting at him.

By and large a GI Carbine in good condition, that’s properly maintained and fed good ammo from good magazines is going to be very reliable. As noted by Mr.
